For me they’re the perfect combination of optimism and pessimism: yep, we’re gonna end the world, but maybe we’ll do better next time. My favorite end-of-the-world novel will always be A Canticle for Leibowitz, because it shows exactly how humans do (but mostly don’t) learn from their mistakes. As you can tell, I could talk about this stuff all day. 😀 Happy to have found your blog!
